One afternoon, Anna was puttering in her garden when she heard a faint whimpering sound. At first, she thought it was just a stray cat or a bird, but as she approached the sound, it grew louder and more urgent. She looked around for about ten minutes after that, but the sound faded away and could not be traced anymore. She cleaned her tools and headed back inside.
