7 of The Very Best Stay At Home Jobs For Moms

Stay at home jobs can be the bread and butter of life as a mom.

Life as a mom isn’t easy and it includes being responsible not only for yourself but for other little lives too. This means you have a lot to do, a lot to care about, and a lot to look after.

Stay at home jobs are very desirable to moms as they allow them to strike a much happier work-life balance, allow them to juggle all their responsibilities, and allow them to be much less stressed in general.

Who doesn’t want all of that?

If you are looking for some stay at home jobs, you have landed in the right place today.

We have a list of the top 7 we would really recommend for all sorts of moms out there.

If you have a favourite, leave us a comment in the section below! And if you have more you think we missed out, leave us a comment for that too!

Don’t forget to follow us on social media before you go as well, we wouldn’t want you to miss out on any amazing content coming your way very soon on OnlyMomsKnow, would we?

Let’s get into that list. Starting with:

1. Customer Service/Call Centre Jobs

Image of a woman with headset working in a call centre job from home, one of the best stay at home jobs for moms

Customer service jobs are very often offered as stay at home jobs, especially after the pandemic. There are lots of customer service and call centre jobs available either through companies or as freelance options. All you really need is a headset and a laptop, and you are good to go!

Customer service jobs are good for stay at home moms because they are very accessible regardless of your past experience, you usually don’t need to have your video camera on, and you can do it entirely from home without trips or big meetings.

You can do all of your work easily and comfortably from home and fit the work around your current schedule.

You might have to deal with some interrupted calls when your little ones need attention but, as we said, you won’t need your camera on, so as long as you play it off well it will be ok.

2. Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistance is quite a new genre of stay at home jobs we are seeing on the global market. More and more people are doing it and more and more people are loving it too!

There are lots of aspects to being a virtual assistant but the role mostly involves doing admin, organisation, and communication tasks for someone in a company you aren’t part of. The tasks can range from anything from booking flights to developing email campaigns, and as far as stay at home jobs go, being a virtual assistant can be a very interesting and versatile position.

Most people are entering this position from a freelance point of view so, if you are interested, it is worth having a hunt around freelancer sites such as Upwork and Fiverr to see how people are getting these jobs and what employers are asking for.

3. Bookkeeping/Accountancy

Not all stay at home jobs are new and digital, some are jobs that have been around for centuries.

Good ol’ bookkeeping and accounting are always needed and it is conducted remotely now more than ever.

As with most stay at home jobs on this list, you can either do this role as a salaried employee with a company or you can go freelance. Whatever works for you, works for you.

There will always be people and businesses and companies out there who need their books managed, balanced, and audited, so there is a good, steady stream of work in this role.

If you have a brain for maths and some experience with bookkeeping, this one could be perfect for you.

4. Tutoring

Tutoring can be one of the very best stay at home jobs for moms. You are already dealing with kids every day, so why not get paid for it!

You could either do some tutoring online with video calls or you could tutor directly out of your house, maybe in the evenings.

There are lots of online tutoring platforms out there to help you get started if you do want to go down the online route, or you can go old-fashioned and put adverts on local boards.

Either way, tutoring can be a great way to use your skills and experience while getting paid.

5. Social Media Manager

Being a social media manager is very popular right now and it is very accessible to do at home with kids.

Being a social media manager is basically what it says on the tin, you manage other people’s and businesses’ social media accounts on their behalf.

This can be one of the really fun stay at home jobs you can do. It allows you to be creative and use your creativity for a solid profit.

What’s not to love?

6. Blogger/Writer

Blogs and online content make up a huge market in stay at home jobs.

Writing and blogging, especially if you work freelance, allow you to have lots of flexibility around your schedule. Say you have a certain amount of work to get done in a day, no one is dictating to you when that work has to be done, as long as it is done. That means you can work when your children are napping when your spouse comes home and takes over, or when they finally go to bed.

This kind of work allows you to earn while still putting your kids first.

An excellent result.

7. Transcription

Finally, we have transcription stay at home jobs.

Transcribing simply means making a written note of verbal/audio information. There is more work than you would think out there in transcription and it can be a profitable option for stay at home moms.

Again, there are lots of transcription sites and platforms available online that can help you get started with this, and you can do all of this work at home with a laptop and a headset.

Some of the sites have tests you need to pass before you can begin working but, apart from that, you don’t need any prior experience. You can start working right away and start your new life!

A win-win for everyone I would say.
